The new, 1,257-square-foot splash pad at Alaya Park in Bloomington, California was designed to provide a free, ADA-accessible space that promotes outdoor play, wellness, and community connection. The splash pad not only provides a public space to cool off on a hot summer day but also serves as a vibrant gathering point where families can come together and children can stay active in an inclusive environment.
Built with accessibility and sustainability in mind, the splash pad features 23 spray elements, two waterslides, dumping buckets, and a robust recirculating filtration system. Sports-themed aquatic play features from Water Odyssey, including the World Cup Aqua Slide, Slam Dunk Aqua Slide, Batter-Up! Aqua Sprayer, Blitz Aqua Spout, Ace Aqua Spout, and interactive Roll-A-Rail, bring high-energy fun inspired by soccer, basketball, baseball, tennis, and football. These elements are complemented by AquaWorx interactive water features such as the Aqua Tipping Buckets 3, Aqua Activator, and a variety of ground sprays that provide aquatic play experiences for younger patrons. Together, the blended product lines create a dynamic aquatic play environment that celebrates movement, teamwork, and friendly competition.
Behind the scenes, AquaWorx provided the splash pad’s recirculating filtration system and collector tank, housed in an adjacent open equipment yard for accessibility and maintenance efficiency. The 4,000-gallon recycled water system incorporates UV sanitation, high-efficiency filtration, and timers to help conserve water while maintaining clean conditions. The project represents a successful collaboration between AquaWorx, Water Odyssey, Great Western Recreation, and San Bernardino County, delivering a sustainable, sports-themed aquatic play destination that will serve the Bloomington community for years to come.
