The Crooked Can Brewery in Minneola, Florida, is designed as a communal market and event venue, bringing friends, families, and the community together to experience the best of Central Florida, all within a relaxed, welcoming environment.

With indoor and outdoor seating, a lively patio, and spaces designed for all ages, Crooked Can had already established itself as a destination for gathering. AquaWorx and Fountain People helped take that experience one step further by introducing aquatic play into a setting where you might not typically expect to find it.

Rather than limiting splash pads and interactive water features to traditional parks, recreation centers, or aquatic facilities, this project demonstrates how water play can become a natural part of other community-focused environments. The result is an experience that encourages families to stay longer, gives children a place to play, and adds another layer of activity to an already vibrant social destination.

The splash pad design combines products from Aquatic Play Brands, featuring twelve Fountain in a Cans from our partners at Fountain People and eight Aqua Cone ground sprays, all activated through an Aqua Activator. With the slightest tap, the water-powered playscape comes to life, creating an interactive experience that complements the energy and atmosphere of the venue.

The experience doesn't have to end when the sun goes down. At night, the Fountain in a Can illuminates the space through a FXPRO LED Fountain Light Control Panel, extending the aquatic environment into the evening. This gives families who may not be able to visit during the daytime an opportunity to enjoy the splash pad while also creating an engaging nighttime atmosphere for guests already spending time at the venue.

Behind the scenes, an AquaWorx Vacuum Cartridge Filtration System provides an efficient, low-maintenance water management solution for the splash pad. The system is housed within an adjacent gated equipment yard, keeping critical components separated from guest areas while providing convenient access for routine maintenance and operation.

Crooked Can demonstrates how thoughtfully integrated aquatic play can enhance destinations far beyond the traditional splash pad setting. Breweries, markets, event venues, mixed-use developments, restaurants, and other gathering spaces can use interactive water features to broaden family-friendly experiences, encourage longer visits, and create another reason for guests to return.

By bringing together craft beer, food, events, outdoor gathering spaces, and interactive aquatic play, Crooked Can has created an experience with something for guests of all ages.
